Infrastructure Consultant

As an Infrastructure Consultant at APH, you will be responsible for many of the different aspects of project implementation and ongoing support for our valued clients.

Responsibilities

Your new role will involve:

  • Working on implementation projects, functionality enhancements to existing systems and upgrade projects
  • Becoming a trusted advisor and consultant to our established customer base
  • Working with the services delivery management team to continually improve our delivery processes to customers
  • Offering training and assistance to the team
  • Achievement of personal and team based utilisation and commercial targets in line with our business strategy and vision
  • Clearly defining project scope with our clients and internal project stakeholders by relating the tasks required to the time taken to deliver results
  • Helping the support team in the resolution of customer issues in a timely manner, making sure that APH adhere to service level agreements and meet our customer’s expectations

Experience and Skills Required

In order to be successful in this role, you will be expected to have these key technical skills:

  • Windows 2008 server to Windows 2012 R2 server
  • SBS server 2007 to 2011
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS
  • VMware vSphere and ESX
  • Hyper-V
  • Microsoft exchange 2007 to 2013
  • Window 7 to Window 10 client operating systems
  • Office 365
  • PowerShell
  • Veeam Backup and Replication
  • Backup Exec
  • AVG anti-virus, Managed Workplace, or exposure to other RMM packages.
  • Networking including LAN, WAN, Firewall, VPN and Wi-Fi

And the following personal skills:

  • Good Customer Service and very customer focused
  • Good fault-finding and problem solving skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Datacentre or MSP background is a great advantage
  • A high level (degree or equivalent) qualification that demonstrates superior knowledge of information systems, computing or software engineering
  • Project and time management skills with a successful and demonstrable track record
  • Excellent written, spoken and listening communication skills
  • A focus on being part of a highly motivated and professional team
  • The ability to learn new ideas and skills with speed and confidence
  • Self-motivation to work independently when required and driven to achieve success in the consultancy sector
  • Hold a full UK driving licence with the ability to work freely across the UK.
  • Willing to travel on a regular basis
